Beirut, Aug. 22 (SANA) Israeli aircraft launched airstrikes and artillery bombing with phosphorus shells, coinciding with widespread demolition operations targeting several villages and towns in southern Lebanon.
The National News Agency (NNA) reported that the Israeli occupation air force launched two airstrikes early Saturday morning on Ali al-Taher heights at the northern outskirts of the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa in the Nabatieh district.
The agency noted that the occupation’s artillery shelled the outskirts of the Kafr Ruman orchard, the vicinity of Dabsha Hill, and Ali al-Taher woodland with phosphorus shells from last night until dawn today.
This coincided with widespread demolition operations in the villages and towns of al-Mansouri, Majdel Zoun, and Beit al-Siyad in Tyre district, pointing out that the town of Beit al-Siyad was completely destroyed, with no house left standing.
The demolition operations extended to the towns of Haddatha, Beit Yahoun, and Aita al-Jabal in the Bint Jbeil district, accompanied by machine-gun fire directed at adjacent valleys, amid continuous drone flights over the villages and towns of the western and central sectors.
Israel’s attacks on Lebanon killed 4,348 people and wounded 12,307 since March 2, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said on Friday, as Israeli strikes continued across the country’s south.
