New York, March 17 (SANA) – China has called for strengthening international cooperation and multilateral efforts to address the growing challenges of nuclear proliferation, stressing the need for collective action to safeguard global security.
Speaking at the United Nations, China’s Permanent Representative, Fu Cong, emphasized that rising geopolitical tensions and ongoing conflicts are increasing risks related to nuclear weapons and technologies, making coordinated international efforts more urgent than ever.
He stressed that multilateralism remains the cornerstone of effective non-proliferation efforts, urging all countries to uphold international agreements and reinforce existing frameworks aimed at preventing the spread of nuclear weapons.
The Chinese envoy also highlighted the importance of maintaining stability in global security structures, warning that unilateral actions and escalating conflicts could undermine decades of progress in nuclear arms control and increase the likelihood of further proliferation.
China reaffirmed its commitment to working with the international community to strengthen dialogue, promote peaceful solutions, and support mechanisms that ensure the safe and responsible use of nuclear technology.
