Caracas, June 25 (SANA) At least 32 people were killed and more than 700 injured after two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela on Wednesday, acting President Delcy Rodríguez said on Thursday.
AFP quoted Rodríguez as saying authorities had so far confirmed 32 deaths and more than 700 injuries. She added that officials had not yet received casualty reports from La Guaira state near the capital, Caracas, which was among the areas hardest hit by the earthquakes.
The two earthquakes, measuring magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5, struck northern Venezuela on Wednesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), prompting authorities to declare a state of emergency.
