Damascus, Aug. 7 (SANA) The Ministry of Interior said that Internal Security Forces are continuing security and investigative operations in Jaramana town in Damascus Countryside following a bombing targeting a passenger bus on Thursday evening that injured 14 civilians.
In a statement published on its Telegram channel, the Ministry said that specialized units immediately cordoned off the site, collected evidence, and launched investigations to determine the circumstances of the incident, identify those responsible, and bring them to justice.
The Ministry added that the bombing occurred as sheikhs and community leaders in Jaramana issued statements emphasizing their commitment to the Syrian state and national unity. It called on citizens to remain vigilant and avoid being drawn into attempts aimed at creating division or undermining civil peace.
Meanwhile, Damascus Countryside Health Director Dr. Tawfiq Hasaba said that the number of people injured in the Jaramana bombing reached 14, with no fatalities recorded.
He added that seven wounded people were transferred to Damascus Hospital, including three who were in critical condition and required surgery.
