Washington, June 9 (SANA) U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that efforts to reach an agreement with Iran are in their final stages and that a deal could be concluded within days.
“We are in the final stages of reaching an agreement that will be very good,” Trump said after attending an NBA Finals game in New York, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).
He said an agreement could be reached “within two or three days.”
Trump’s remarks came a day after Iran and Israel responded to his call for a ceasefire following an exchange of attacks that marked the most serious military escalation since a ceasefire between Washington and Tehran took effect on April 8.
Diplomatic efforts have intensified in recent days to contain tensions and secure a lasting agreement aimed at preventing further escalation in the region.
The latest developments follow months of conflict involving Iran, Israel and the United States, raising concerns that continued hostilities could further destabilize the Middle East.
