Beirut, May 24 (SANA) At least 11 people, including children, were killed in Israeli airstrikes across southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours, according to Lebanese health authorities and state media.
On Sunday, a woman was killed and two other people wounded in Israeli airstrikes targeting towns and villages in southern Lebanon, Lebanon’s National News Agency reported.
Israeli warplanes struck the town of Touline in the Tyre district, while overnight strikes and artillery shelling targeted areas between Qabrikha and Majdal Selm in the Marjayoun district, the agency said.
In Nabatieh province, airstrikes reportedly destroyed residential buildings and commercial properties, including a building near the International School in the town of Habboush.
Additional strikes targeted the outskirts of Kfarreman, the Ksaret al-Zaatar neighborhood and the town of Toul, causing extensive damage to shops, businesses and restaurants, according to Lebanese media.
On Saturday, five people, including children, were killed after an Israeli strike hit a residential building in the town of Sair al-Gharbiyeh in southern Lebanon, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said. Several others were wounded.
Rescue teams and civil defense crews continued search operations under the rubble, the ministry’s emergency operations center said.
Earlier Saturday, another Israeli strike targeting an orchard north of the city of Tyre killed five people and wounded two others, Lebanese officials said.
The Health Ministry said the cumulative death toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanon since March 2 had reached 3,123, with 9,506 others wounded.
