U.S. Treasury sanctions 12 entities and individuals over Iranian oil shipments to China

Washington, May 11 (SANA)     The U.S. Treasury Department announced Monday the imposition of sanctions on 12 individuals and entities for their role in facilitating the sale and shipment of Iranian oil to China on behalf of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The department said in a statement posted on X that the measures target a network of companies used by the IRGC to cover oil sales and channel revenues to the Iranian regime, adding that the action is part of Washington’s broader effort to limit the financial resources directed toward the development of Iran’s military programs and security forces.

The announcement follows sanctions imposed last Friday against 11 entities and three individuals for their involvement in supporting efforts to acquire military technologies, including Chinese companies that provided Iran with satellite imagery used to carry out strikes against U.S. forces in the region.
