UAE, Mauritania Leaders Review Regional Developments, Security Risks
UAE President bin Zayed Al Nahyan with Mauritanian President El Ghazouani

Abu Dhabi, April 27 (SANA) UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed with Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani the latest developments in the region and their repercussions on regional and international security and stability.

According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the talks, held Sunday in Abu Dhabi, addressed the impact of ongoing tensions on maritime security, energy supplies and the global economy.

The two leaders also reviewed reported Iranian attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in the UAE and other countries in the region, in addition to a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern.

President El Ghazouani reiterated Mauritania’s condemnation of these attacks, describing them as a violation of state sovereignty and a threat to regional stability. He also noted measures taken by the UAE to safeguard its security and stability.

The meeting further covered prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in development, economic sectors and renewable energy, in line with the two countries’ shared priorities.

The UAE and several Gulf countries have reported drone and missile attacks since the escalation of the U.S.-Israeli–Iranian conflict that began on February 28.
