Havana, April 17 (SANA) Cuba has extended its congratulations to Syria on the 80th anniversary of its Independence Day, reaffirming the strong ties between the two countries.
In a post on its official Facebook account, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed its “cordial congratulations” to the Syrian Arab Republic on the occasion, highlighting the historical significance of April 17.
The ministry expressed hope that the anniversary would serve as a reminder of the enduring friendship between the two nations.
Syria and Cuba have maintained diplomatic relations since 1965, built on mutual cooperation and solidarity.
Syria marks Independence Day on April 17 each year, commemorating the departure of the last French soldier in 1946, which ended the French mandate that began in 1920.
