Occupied Jerusalem, April 13 (SANA) Israeli forces carried out a wide-scale campaign of raids and arrests across the West Bank and East Jerusalem early Monday, detaining dozens of Palestinians during house searches that caused property damage.
According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, arrests were reported across multiple areas. In Qalqilya, seven Palestinians were detained in the town of Jayous, while additional arrests were made in Tammoun, south of Tubas, and in the city of Nablus. In East Jerusalem, 10 youths were taken from the neighborhood of al-Issawiya following raids on their homes.
Further arrests were reported in central and southern parts of the West Bank. In Ramallah, four Palestinians, including a child, were detained after Israeli forces stormed several villages. In Hebron, a young man was arrested during a home raid. Meanwhile, in Masafer Yatta, troops entered a village, searched a residence, interrogated its owner, and set up military checkpoints, closing both main and secondary roads.
In the northern West Bank, Israeli forces raided Nablus, arresting two young men after searching a home, while the eastern gate of al-Lubban al-Sharqiya was closed, disrupting movement for residents and students.
The operations were accompanied by incidents affecting civilians. Several schoolchildren suffered from tear gas inhalation after Israeli forces fired gas and sound bombs in a Masafer Yatta village as students were heading to school. The main road to the area was also blocked by settlers.
Israeli forces continue near-daily raids and arrests across the West Bank and East Jerusalem, imposing movement restrictions through checkpoints and road closures.
In a separate escalation in Gaza, three Palestinians were killed and others wounded early Monday in an Israeli drone strike targeting a group near al-Mazra’a School in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.
Violence intensified across the enclave overnight. Four Palestinians were shot near al-Halabi roundabout in Jabalia in northern Gaza, while Israeli artillery shelled multiple areas, including west of Rafah, the eastern neighborhoods of al-Tuffah in Gaza City, and areas east of Khan Younis. A Palestinian was also killed by Israeli gunfire near Salah al-Din Street in Khan Younis.
The ongoing Israeli offensive in Gaza, launched after the ceasefire declared last October, has further deepened the humanitarian crisis, with rescue teams unable to reach victims trapped under rubble due to continued shelling and unsafe conditions.
