Abu Dhabi, April 7 (SANA) – UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone call with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi to discuss regional security developments and their implications for maritime security, global energy supplies and the international economy.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the two sides also addressed continued Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and other countries in the region, including strikes against civilians and civilian infrastructure, which they described as violations of national sovereignty and international law, including the UN Charter.
Prime Minister Takaichi expressed Japan’s condemnation of the attacks and reaffirmed her country’s solidarity with the UAE, supporting the measures it is taking to safeguard its sovereignty and ensure the safety of its citizens.
The talks come amid heightened regional tensions linked to the ongoing U.S.–Israeli–Iranian war and its broader implications for regional stability and global economic security.
A day earlier, President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed warned during a meeting with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah of the serious consequences of military escalation for regional and international security and stability.
