Geneva, April 5 (SANA) Doctors Without Borders (MSF) warned that restrictions imposed by Israeli occupation authorities on the entry of medical supplies into the Gaza Strip are endangering the lives of thousands of patients amid severe shortages.
In a statement, MSF said that since early 2026, Israeli authorities have blocked the entry of medical supplies into Gaza, including vital medicines such as antibiotics and painkillers, as well as basic surgical equipment and wound care materials.
The organization added that international medical teams have also been denied access, further straining Gaza’s healthcare system as casualties continue to rise amid ongoing escalation.
MSF said restrictions at border crossings, including Kerem Shalom, are disrupting the flow of humanitarian aid and hindering urgent medical treatment for critically ill patients.
It warned that the continuation of these conditions could lead to a complete collapse of healthcare services in the enclave.
Separately, the World Health Organization said no medical supplies or medicines have been allowed into Gaza.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported a worsening health situation due to shortages of fuel and spare parts needed to operate electricity generators, warning that hospitals and medical centers could soon cease functioning.
MSF called on Israeli authorities to immediately lift the restrictions and allow the unhindered entry of medical supplies and humanitarian personnel, warning of a potential health catastrophe in Gaza.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s military campaign in Gaza has caused widespread destruction of infrastructure and deepened the humanitarian crisis, with shortages of medical and food supplies and rising casualties.
