Doha/Abu Dhabi, Apr. 3 (SANA) Qatar and the United Arab Emirates announced on Friday that their air defenses successfully intercepted Iranian drones and missiles, amid ongoing regional escalation targeting energy and civilian infrastructure.
The Qatari Ministry of Defense said in a statement carried by Qatar News Agency that its armed forces intercepted all drones launched toward the country from Iran.
In the United Arab Emirates, the Ministry of Defense announced that air defenses intercepted 18 ballistic missiles, four cruise missiles and 47 drones in the latest attack. It added that since the beginning of the Iranian attacks, its forces have dealt with 475 ballistic missiles, 23 cruise missiles and 2,085 drones.
The UAE said the attacks resulted in the deaths of two members of the armed forces and a Moroccan civilian contractor, as well as nine civilians of various nationalities. A total of 203 people were injured, including citizens of the UAE and other countries.
Earlier, authorities in Abu Dhabi reported 11 injuries caused by falling debris in Ajban area in Abu Dhabi following interception operations.
Since the outbreak of the US-Israeli war on Iran, several Arab countries were targeted by Iran with missile and drone attacks, causing casualties and infrastructure damage.
