Bahrain says air defenses intercept missiles, drones amid regional escalation

Manama, April 1 (SANA) Bahrain’s air defense systems intercepted and destroyed four missiles and 19 drones targeting the kingdom over the past 24 hours, the National Communication Center said on Wednesday.

The center said that since the start of the Iranian aggressions, a total of 186 missiles and 419 drones have been intercepted and destroyed, adding that air defense systems remain on high alert to safeguard the country’s security.

The Bahrain Defense Force said the use of ballistic missiles and drones to target civilian facilities and private property constitutes a violation of international humanitarian law and the UN Charter, warning that such attacks pose a threat to regional peace and security.

Iran has continued missile and drone strikes on several countries in the region, including Bahrain, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure, as part of an ongoing escalation linked to the broader U.S.-Israeli–Iranian conflict that began on February 28.
