Beriut, March 29 (SANA) Several people were killed and others injured on Sunday in Israeli airstrikes targeting several areas in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese medical and media sources.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that seven people were killed and several others wounded in an Israeli strike on the town of al-Hanniyah in the Tyre district. In another strike on the town of Jouaya in the same district, two people were killed and three others injured.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health said an Israeli airstrike on the town of Deir al-Zahrani in the Nabatieh district killed seven people and injured eight others.
In a related development, one person was killed and another injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting the town of Ma’rakah in the Tyre district, while a drone strike killed two people in the town of Aishiyeh in the Jezzine district.
The sources added that Israeli artillery shelling also targeted the towns of al-Habbariyeh, al-Fardis, al-Qalila, and surrounding orchards in southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health had announced on Saturday that the death toll from Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon since March 2 has risen to 1,189, including 124 children, with 3,427 people injured, among them 409 children.
