Washington, March 28 (SANA) U.S. President’s especial envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, expressed his belief that Iran would hold talks with Washington “this week,” in an effort to end the war that has been ongoing for a month in the Middle East.
According to the French Press Agency (AFP), Witkoff stated during an economic forum in Miami on Friday “We believe there will be meetings this week, and we certainly hope so,” in response to a question regarding negotiations with Iran.
The US envoy indicated that the United States is awaiting a response from Tehran on its proposal to end the war, saying “We have a 15-point plan on the table, and we expect the Iranians to respond, and it could resolve everything.”
While Tehran refuses to acknowledge holding talks with the United States, Iranian officials reportedly submitted a “formal” response to the 15-point American plan through a Pakistani mediator, according to several Iranian websites aligned with the establishment in Tehran.
