Beirut, March 25 (SANA) Israeli airstrikes targeting several areas in southern Lebanon killed four people on Wednesday, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said, as tensions in the region continue to escalate.
The ministry said two paramedics were among those killed while responding to a rescue mission in the Nabatieh area.
The deaths bring the number of emergency responders killed since the escalation began in early March to 42, raising concerns over the safety of medical teams operating in conflict zones.
Additional strikes hit the villages of Zawtar al-Sharqiya and Zawtar al-Gharbiya, where two more people were reported killed, according to the ministry.
The ministry called on international humanitarian organizations to intervene to stop repeated violations of international humanitarian law, warning of increasing risks to civilians and emergency workers.
The strikes come amid ongoing escalation between Israel and the Hezbollah militia since early March, marked by near-daily air raids across southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut, along with reports of limited ground operations in the south.
