Beirut, March 21 (SANA) One person was killed and several others injured on Saturday in Israeli airstrikes targeting areas in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency.
The agency said an airstrike on a house in the town of al-Ghandourieh in Bint Jbeil district killed one person and injured two others.
In the Tyre district, three people were injured after an airstrike hit buildings and commercial shops in the al-Housh area.
Additional injuries were reported following a strike on a house in the town of Kafra, also in Bint Jbeil district.
Israeli airstrikes also hit the southern suburbs of Beirut, including Ghobeiry and Burj al-Barajneh, while artillery shelling targeted the towns of Naqoura and Hamoul in the Tyre district.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry said on Friday that the number of people killed in Israeli airstrikes since March 2 has reached 1,021, with 2,641 injured as of March 20.
The strikes come amid escalating hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah militia, with near-daily air raids reported in southern Lebanon and other areas.
