Beirut, March 5 (SANA) Several Lebanese civilians were killed and others injured Thursday as Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on multiple locations across Lebanon, Lebanese media reported.
The Lebanese National News Agency said that two airstrikes targeted the towns of Zawtar al-Sharqiya and Kfour in the Nabatieh district in southern Lebanon, killing six people.
In northern Lebanon, two people were killed and a woman wounded after an airstrike hit a house in the Beddawi refugee camp in Tripoli. Another strike targeted a car on the Tyre–Naqoura road in southern Lebanon, killing three people.
Israeli aircraft also conducted additional strikes in the university district of Nabatieh and in the towns of Jibshit, Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Talousa and Touline, as well as the outskirts of Deir Seryan and Adaisseh in the Marjeyoun district. No casualties were immediately reported in those attacks.
The strikes follow a deadly wave of bombardment Wednesday in which 12 Lebanese were killed and dozens more injured. The total death toll since Israeli airstrikes escalated Monday has risen to more than 60, with around 400 people reported wounded.
The escalation came after Lebanese Hezbollah militia launched rockets and drones toward Israeli targets southern Haifa.
Israel has also called on residents of 53 villages in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa region to evacuate their homes and move at least one kilometer away, prompting large-scale displacement, particularly in Beirut’s southern suburbs and across southern Lebanon.
