Abu Dhabi, March 17 (SANA) One person was killed on Tuesday when debris from a ballistic missile fell after it was intercepted by air defenses in the Bani Yas area of Abu Dhabi, according to UAE authorities.

In a statement on X, the Abu Dhabi Media Office said: “The relevant authorities in Abu Dhabi responded to an incident resulting from falling debris in the Bani Yas area after a ballistic missile was intercepted by air defenses, which led to the death of a Pakistani national.”

The office urged the public to rely only on official sources and avoid spreading rumors or unverified information.

Earlier on Tuesday, the UAE Ministry of Defence announced that its air defenses had intercepted missile and drone attacks launched from Iran.

In a related development, Bahrain strongly condemned continued Iranian attacks targeting civilian and vital facilities in the UAE. Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement carried by the Bahrain News Agency that these attacks constitute a blatant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the principles of good neighborliness.

Bahrain reaffirmed its solidarity with the UAE and support for its security and stability. It also called for the immediate cessation of such attacks in line with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, which have caused casualties and infrastructure damage.

Iran continues missile and drone attacks on several Arab countries, including the UAE, causing casualties and material damage to infrastructure, amid escalating regional tensions linked to the U.S.-Israeli-Iranian war.
