Washington, 13 March (SANA) U.S. Central Command said on Friday that all six crew members aboard a KC-135 refuelling aircraft that crashed in western Iraq have been killed.
In a statement posted on X, CENTCOM said the aircraft had been reported missing while flying over friendly airspace. The command said the cause of the crash is still being investigated but emphasized that it was not the result of hostile or friendly fire.
CENTCOM had earlier reported four fatalities before updating the toll to six.
The crash is the fourth U.S. military aircraft loss since the start of the U.S.–Israeli–Iranian conflict, following three F 15 jets that were accidentally shot down over Kuwait by friendly fire, according to CENTCOM.
