Washington, March 9 (SANA) The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said Monday that two American soldiers were killed in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, bringing the number of U.S. troops killed during the military operation “Epic Fury,” launched by the United States and Israel against Iran, to eight.
CENTCOM said on its website that “a U.S. National Guard soldier in Kuwait died on March 6 due to a medical emergency,” adding that “an investigation is underway to determine the cause of death.”
It also said that “another U.S. soldier died last night from severe injuries sustained in an attack targeting U.S. forces in Saudi Arabia on March 1, during the first strikes carried out by the Iranian regime across the Middle East.”
CENTCOM previously announced that the number of U.S. soldiers killed had risen to six, in addition to 18 others who were seriously wounded during operations carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran.
The announcement of the two latest deaths came a day after U.S. President Donald Trump attended a ceremony to receive the remains of six soldiers killed during the conflict with Iran.
