Capitals, March 2 (SANA) Smoke was seen rising Monday morning near the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait City as Iran launched fresh missile and drone attacks targeting several Gulf states, amid escalating regional tensions.

Kuwaiti media reported that fire and ambulance crews were dispatched to the area. The U.S. Embassy warned of a “continuing threat of missile and drone attacks,” urging U.S. citizens to shelter in place and follow safety instructions.

Earlier, Kuwaiti authorities said air defenses intercepted several drones attempting to target the country, adding that “hostile aerial targets” were engaged at dawn with no reported casualties. Kuwait Petroleum Corporation said two workers were injured after missile debris fell on the Al-Ahmadi refinery, though production continued.

In Qatar, additional missile interceptions were reported over the capital, Doha, as several Gulf states remained on heightened alert.

Bahrain’s Interior Ministry said a worker was killed and others injured after debris from an intercepted missile fell on a vessel undergoing maintenance, sparking a fire.

The attacks follow a joint U.S.-Israeli strike on targets inside Iran, marking a sharp escalation in regional hostilities. Gulf governments have warned of risks to regional security and reaffirmed their right to take measures to protect national sovereignty.
