Capitals, Mar. 2 (SANA) – The leaders of Germany, France and the United Kingdom signaled readiness to take coordinated defensive measures aimed at countering Iran’s missile and drone capabilities amid escalating regional tensions.
In a joint statement cited by AFP on Sunday, the three leaders said they were prepared to “take steps to defend our interests and those of our allies in the region,” including efforts to prevent further Iranian missile and drone launches.
The statement expressed concern over what it described as disproportionate and indiscriminate Iranian attacks targeting regional countries in response to ongoing US and Israeli strikes against Iran.
The leaders said the attacks had affected close allies and posed risks to military personnel and civilians across the region, adding that Berlin, Paris and London would coordinate potential defensive measures with the United States and regional partners.
The developments come as the United States and Israel continue a second day of strikes on targets inside Iran using precision weapons launched from air, land and sea, while Iran has responded with missile and drone attacks against Israel and several Gulf countries as well as Jordan, causing civilian casualties and material damage.
