Ankara, Dec. 10 (SANA) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that a just and lasting peace in Gaza can only be achieved through a ceasefire and the implementation of a two-state solution.
Speaking on the 77th anniversary of the UN’s adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), Erdogan said, according to Anadolu Agency, that the document “represents the shared values and achievements of humanity” and remains a “universal commitment guaranteeing the inherent rights of every individual.”
He added that the principles of the UDHR are being violated in many parts of the world, with concepts such as peace and justice “constantly eroded.”
Erdogan accused Israel of committing crimes in Gaza that he described as a “flagrant violation” of UDHR values, and stressed that rebuilding Gaza is an international responsibility toward the Palestinian people.
He also criticized Israel for violating the ceasefire and called for international pressure to halt its aggression.
