Saudi, French leaders discuss efforts to strengthen Gaza ceasefire

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed developments in the Gaza Strip and the ceasefire during a phone call that focused on ways to promote peace and stability in the Middle East

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the two sides stressed the need to immediately end the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people and for a full Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. They also agreed on the importance of taking practical steps toward a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.

The discussion also touched on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields, along with several regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Saudi Arabia has supported the Gaza ceasefire and hoped it would lead to urgent ease of humanitarian situation, ensure full Israeli withdrawal, and restore security and stability to the Gaza Strip.
