Security Council holds an emergency session to discuss Israeli aggression on Doha

Capitals, SANA- The European Union, Germany, Italy, and Japan condemned the Israeli airstrike on the Qatari capital, Doha, stressing that it constitutes a violation of international law and Qatar’s sovereignty, and warning of the risk of escalation in the region.

The European Union stressed its solidarity with Qatar, while German and Italian officials deemed the attack unacceptable and undermined truce efforts. Japan described it as an obstacle to diplomatic efforts.

In this context, the UN Security Council is holding an emergency session Wednesday at the request of Algeria and Pakistan to discuss the repercussions of the raid that targeted a meeting of Hamas leaders in Doha, amid warnings of an escalating crisis in the Middle East.
