Erdogan: Turkey on constant alert to protect forests from fires

Erdogan: Turkey on constant alert to protect forests from fires

Ankara,SANA-Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey is making tremendous efforts to extinguish forest fires from the air and on land, using 27 aircraft, 105 helicopters, 25,000 forest workers, and 132,000 volunteers to protect forests from fires.

Erdogan confirmed that firefighting teams have managed to extinguish 3,062 fires in Turkey since the beginning of the summer, wishing firefighters success in their efforts to extinguish the fires across the country.

Fires have broken out in several Turkish provinces, most notably Bursa, Kahramanmaraş, Mersin, Uşak, and Antalya, over the past two days.
