Damascus, SANA- Minister of Health, Dr. Musab al-Ali, met Monday with the first medical delegation of the Syrian-German Medical Association “Sigma” to discuss ways to develop and enhance the health system in Syria.

Dr. al-Ali explained that the Syrian-German Medical Association launched the “Our Pulse is One” campaign two days ago as part of its initial activities in Syria. The campaign, which will continue until the end of the month, symbolizes solidarity and mutual support among Syrians, particularly those living abroad who are assisting Syrians inside the country.

Dr. al-Ali praised the efforts and support of the association, expressing hope for its continuation and greater cooperation in the future. He emphasized that the campaign is not solely medical in nature but serves as a message of hope to the Syrian people, affirming that Syrians abroad stand with and support those inside the country.

The delegation noted that its goal is to provide free medical and surgical services through specialized procedures and to support local medical staff in partnership with emergency response teams and the DSVS Association. Additionally, they aim to supply the health sector in Syria with necessary surgical equipment to enhance its effectiveness on the ground.

The delegation is set to operate across several Syrian governorates, performing specialized surgical procedures for patients unable to afford them independently.

The Syrian-German Medical Association was established post-liberation and primarily aims to support the health system in Syria, improve medical care and education through collaborations with physicians, colleges, and universities, coordinate with professional staff working within Syria’s health system, and strengthen the Syrian medical community in Germany.
