Idlib, March 10(SANA) The Syrian Ministry of Health received On Monday, 10 trucks loaded with medicines and medical supplies designated for patients suffering from Thalassemia and kidney diseases. The shipment was funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, in cooperation with the Al-Amin Association for Humanitarian Support.
The ministry explained in a statement published on its Telegram channel that these shipments will be distributed to all health directorates across the various Syrian governorates, noting that the secured quantities are sufficient to cover the needs of thalassemia patients for a full year.
Health Minister Dr. Musab al-Ali affirmed that the ministry continues its work to complete the provision of the remaining therapeutic programs and biological medicines, including drugs for Multiple Sclerosis and tumors.
He pointed out that part of these medicines has already been secured, while intensive efforts continue to provide the remaining quantities in order to overcome existing challenges and difficulties, within the framework of ongoing efforts to alleviate patients’ suffering and improve the quality of healthcare services provided to them.
The Ministry of Health had previously received, on February 18, the first batch of specialized medicines within the program for communicable and non-communicable diseases, and began distributing them to specialized centers and hospitals across the various Syrian governorates.
