Damascus, Jan.20 (SANA) Syria’s Ministry of Health on Tuesday received five ambulances provided by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre through the World Health Organization, with the vehicles designated for the Referral, Ambulance and Emergency Directorate, the ministry said.
The ambulances are intended to enhance the directorate’s operational readiness and improve the transport of patients between medical facilities, particularly in urgent and life-threatening cases.
The delivery comes as the ministry continues to implement a phased program aimed at restoring and upgrading public healthcare services, following years in which medical infrastructure and equipment sustained extensive losses. Current efforts focus on improving service coverage, rehabilitating facilities and strengthening emergency response capacity.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre have in recent months supported Syria through a range of humanitarian contributions. Back in December, the Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate in Lattakia received three modern fire engines from the King Slaman Center, aimed at supporting forest fire prevention, and enhancing emergency response capacity.
