Damascus, Jan. 22 (SANA) Syria’s Health Minister Musab al-Ali met on Thursday with Azerbaijan’s chargé d’affaires in Damascus, Alnur Shah Husseinov, to discuss expanding cooperation in the medical sector.
The talks focused on exchanging expertise, sending Azerbaijani medical teams to perform specialized surgeries in Syria, and strengthening collaboration in pharmaceuticals and treatment services.
Al-Ali emphasized the importance of broadening partnerships with friendly countries to support Syria’s health sector amid ongoing challenges.
For his part, Husseinov expressed Azerbaijan’s readiness to provide assistance and share expertise to help improve healthcare services.
Relations between Syria and Azerbaijan have entered a new phase following the fall of the deposed regime, with new opportunities emerging for cooperation, particularly after the resumption of diplomatic ties and the reopening of the Azerbaijani embassy in Damascus after a 12-year closure.
