Damascus, Sept. 6 (SANA) A Syrian-Qatari investment partnership was launched on Sunday at the Ebla al-Sham Hotel in Damascus countryside, under the patronage of the Syrian Investment Authority, with official attendance and the participation of businessmen and investors from both countries.
The launch event included presentations on future projects between Syria and Qatar aimed at strengthening cooperation and developing economic relations.
A shared investment vision
Syrian Investment Authority Director General Ahmad Rawad Ramadan said the partnership represents a new addition to Syrian-Qatari relations, making them real and sustainable.
He emphasized that Syria is entering a broad phase of construction and work, offering significant investment opportunities across various sectors.

Ramadan said the success of the coming phase will be measured by the number of projects initiated on the ground, adding that the authority is working to build a clear and efficient investment environment and provide an integrated path for investors from idea to execution. He called on Qatari businessmen to study available opportunities and build long-term partnerships.
A partnership beyond economics
Mujd Sherbaji, Chairperson of Glory Holding Group, said the launch of the partnership represents a new beginning in the reconstruction phase, noting that the relationship between Syria and Qatar is not only economic, but an extension of humanitarian and political stances that supported the Syrian people during difficult years.
She stressed that investing in Syria today is an investment in the Syrian people and the country’s future, adding that the new partnership will serve as an economic and investment bridge between the two countries and contribute to launching productive and sustainable projects on professional and transparent foundations.

Confidence in Syria’s investment future
Sheikh Nayef bin Eid Al Thani, Chairman of Tamim Holding Group, said the partnership launch reflects confidence in Syria’s investment future and translates it into a long-term process. He noted that Syria possesses promising investment potential in real estate, industry, agriculture, energy and technology.
He said the partnership will enable the participation of local companies and suppliers and strengthen the employment of Syrian expertise, supporting the national economy and creating job opportunities.

The launch of the partnership follows a series of high-level engagements between Syria and Qatar aimed at deepening economic ties. In May 2026, Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Trade met with Syrian officials in Geneva to discuss enhancing economic and investment cooperation.
