Damascus, June.26 (SANA) Syrian Airlines said on Thursday it will begin direct flights between Damascus and Amsterdam on July 2, restoring service to Europe for the first time in years.
The airline said Amsterdam will become its first European destination since suspending operations on the continent, as part of a broader plan to rebuild its international route network.
Anwar Aqqad, chief executive of the Syrian Aviation Holding Company, said the launch follows extensive technical, legal and diplomatic efforts aimed at restoring the carrier’s presence in European markets.
He said the new route is expected to improve air connectivity, facilitate passenger travel and support economic and cultural exchanges between Syria and Europe.
