Damascus, June.2 (SANA) The Syrian Council for the Coordination of Business Councils launched the Charter of Joint Syrian Business Councils and the Operational Guide for Council Presidents and Founders during the National Conference for Private Sector Dialogue held in Damascus, with the aim of establishing a unified institutional reference framework to regulate the Syrian private sector’s economic relations with partner countries.

Speaking at the event, held at the Conference Palace on Tuesday, Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal al-Shaar said the charter forms part of the Syrian state’s broader approach to rebuilding its economic instruments on more mature and institutional foundations.

He underscored that business councils should serve as an organized platform contributing to the achievement of national economic priorities, particularly increasing exports, attracting investment, and opening new markets for Syrian companies.

For his part, Chairman of the Syrian Council for the Coordination of Business Councils Ahmad Rawad Ramadan stated that operating within a unified national framework provides the private sector with a more cohesive institutional voice in its engagement with partner countries and helps transform individual economic relationships into structured and measurable cooperation.

Ramadan stated that the framework is based on the principles of collaborative governance and institutional discipline, while placing particular emphasis on the developmental and social dimensions of private-sector engagement through supporting economic growth, expanding employment opportunities, and developing national competencies.

The framework identifies four key objectives for business councils: increasing Syrian exports, attracting investments and economic partnerships, securing business opportunities for Syrian companies, and enhancing the efficiency and international competitiveness of the private sector.
