Damascus, Jan.24 (SANA)-Minister of Information, Hamza al-Mustafa affirmed that amid the ongoing political events and rapid developments, statements attributed to various sources and circulated across numerous media outlets and agencies are multiplying.

The Minister pointed out that the ministry maintains constant communication with the media to provide them with the necessary updates in order to publish accurate news.

Minister Al-Mustafa said in a statement on Saturday that “this phenomenon is considered natural in light of the broad media and information openness”.

However, he noted that some of these statements may sometimes be used by certain parties for purposes unrelated to the essence of the information itself, extending instead to other non-media considerations.”

“The Ministry of Information maintains constant communication with most agencies and media outlets, and ensures they are provided with the necessary updates according to the nature of the questions raised.

The ministry also provides, through national media, verified and reliable information that aligns with the public’s right to know and with the principle of transparency upheld by the government”, al-Mustafa added.
