Beijing, China, May 27 (SANA) A delegation from Syria’s Ministry of Economy and Industry participated Tuesday in an international conference specializing in cement manufacturing and environmentally friendly production technologies in Beijing, northern China, as part of efforts to strengthen industrial cooperation and keep pace with global developments in the sector.
According to the ministry’s Telegram channel, the delegation included Osama al-Omar, director of the Planning and Statistics Directorate, and Engineer Mahmoud Fadila, general manager of the General Company for Cement and Building Materials “Omran.”
On the sidelines of the conference, the delegation held meetings with senior officials from Chinese company Sinoma to discuss ways to expand joint cooperation and address challenges facing Syria’s cement industry.
The talks reviewed opportunities to benefit from modern expertise and technologies aimed at improving production efficiency and enhancing the sector’s technical performance.
The delegation also conducted field visits to several cement plants in China, where members reviewed modern production technologies and industrial development methods used in the cement industry.
Sinoma is one of the world’s leading companies in the construction and equipment of cement plants and has implemented industrial projects in several countries. In recent years, the company has focused on low-emission production technologies and smart factories based on automation and digital transformation.
Syria’s participation comes within efforts to engage with modern industrial experiences and strengthen Syrian-Chinese cooperation in heavy industries, supporting the development and competitiveness of the national cement industry in the coming phase.
