Damascus, Feb. 7 (SANA) – Syria and China discussed ways to expand cooperation across various sectors during a meeting in Damascus on Saturday.
Ashhad al-Salibi, Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Afro-Asian and Oceania Affairs Department, met with Chinese Ambassador Shi Hongwei to explore opportunities to strengthen bilateral ties.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry said in a statement released on its Telegram channel that the ambassador welcomed the recent agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
He reiterated China’s support for Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and independent decision-making, and emphasized the importance of stability and a Syrian-led political process.
