Damascus, May 25 (SANA) The price of 21-karat gold remained unchanged in Syria on Monday, extending its stability for a fourth consecutive day despite an increase in global bullion prices.
According to the latest bulletin issued by the General Authority for Precious Metals Management, the selling price of 21-karat gold stood at 17,650 Syrian pounds per gram, while the buying price was set at 17,250 pounds.
The authority said 18-karat gold was priced at 15,200 Syrian pounds per gram for selling and 14,800 pounds for buying.
In international markets, gold prices moved higher, with the ounce reaching $4,557, marking a 1.06 percent increase compared with the previous trading session.
The General Authority for Precious Metals Management oversees the regulation and development of Syria’s gold and precious metals sector and supervises the gold pricing mechanism through goldsmith associations across the country.
