Amman, Feb. 16 (SANA) The head of Syria’s Investment Authority, Talal al-Hilali, held a series of meetings in Jordan aimed at promoting investment opportunities in Syria and strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.

Al-Hilali met with Syrian and Jordanian investors in Amman to outline incentives and regulatory facilitations offered by the Syrian government, as well as priority sectors targeted for investment, the authority said in a statement on Monday. Officials said the discussions focused on encouraging private-sector engagement and highlighting opportunities in key areas of the Syrian economy.

During his visit, al-Hilali also met with Amman Mayor Yousef Shawarbeh to discuss the municipality’s role in infrastructure development and creating an enabling investment environment. The talks addressed ways to support economic growth and improve public services through coordinated development efforts.

In a separate meeting, al-Hilali met with Jordan’s Minister of Education Azmi Mahafzah to explore avenues for enhancing investment cooperation in the education sector, particularly in areas of mutual interest.

The Syrian delegation also held talks with Amer Ahmad Tarawneh, chief executive of Abdali Real Estate Development Company, to review Jordan’s experience in large-scale urban development projects. The delegation toured several shopping malls in Amman to gain insight into the local investment climate and examine project management and operational models.

The visit comes as Syrian authorities seek to attract foreign and regional investment to support economic recovery and rebuild key sectors following years of war.
