Al-Shaar: government institutions committed to rebuilding Raqqa

Damascus, Jan. 26 (SANA) Syria’s Minister of Economy and Industry, Nidal al-Shaar, affirmed that government institutions are committed to supporting the reconstruction of Raqqa and strengthening its economic and service infrastructure following its liberation from SDF and PKK terrorists.

In a statement to SANA on Sunday following a field visit to Raqqa, al-Shaar said initial assessments indicate the scale of the challenges and the extensive damage to the city’s infrastructure. He stressed that government efforts to restore stability and promote economic recovery are progressing steadily.

The minister expressed optimism about the role of young people in the reconstruction process, emphasizing their importance in reviving the city and creating new opportunities for sustainable development.

Earlier on Sunday, al-Shaar visited Raqqa, where he met with Governor Abdul Rahman Salama to discuss ways to enhance economic development in the province. The visit focused on assessing the condition of industrial facilities and exploring ways to rehabilitate infrastructure to boost production and support long-term economic growth.
