New York, SANA- UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Syria, Adam Abdel Mawla confirmed on Monday that Stability and peace are absolutely crucial for Syria’s recovery and reconstruction.

“Syrians desperately need stability, peace and unity in order to recover and rebuild”, Abdel Mawla posted on X platform, expressing “deep concern about the dangerous developments in Sweida’’.

The UN official called for calm and protecting the security and safety of civilians under all circumstances.

Over the past few hours, Sweida has seen clashes between local military groups and clans in the al-Maqous neighborhood of the city which killed more than 30 people and wounded nearly 100 others.

The Ministry of Defense announced that units from the Syrian Arab Army and Internal Security Forces have been deployed to the affected areas to stop clashes, protect residents, and restore stability.
