President Ahmed al-Sharaa issued decree No. 263 of 2025, establishing the National Import and Export Committee, which will be affiliated with the General Secretariat of the Presidency. The Committee will be chaired by the head of the General Authority for Ports and Customs.
This Committee is tasked with approving or prohibiting the import and export of goods and will report directly to the General Secretariat of the Syrian Arab Republic’s Presidency.
The Committee is also responsible for reviewing and approving proposals to allow or restrict the entry of goods and products into the Syrian Arab Republic.
