Damascus, June 7 (SANA) A cultural event titled “Pulse of the Land” was held at Syria’s National Library in Damascus, bringing together musicians, poets, artists and children in a tribute to Palestinian heritage, collective memory and cultural identity.
The programme featured performances by Palestinian and Syrian artistic groups, traditional and national songs, poetry readings, and a presentation by the Palestinian Villages Encyclopedia, a project dedicated to documenting depopulated Palestinian villages and preserving their historical legacy. A promotional video titled “Biography of the Land” was screened to highlight the encyclopedia’s efforts to preserve the memory and history of displaced Palestinian villages for future generations.

The event also included the screening of a short film, “Between Two Cities: Damascus and Jerusalem,” which explored the historical and spiritual ties between the two cities and their longstanding cultural connections.
Organisers said the event aimed to highlight the role of culture and the arts in safeguarding Palestinian identity and passing historical memory to younger generations. The evening concluded with a collective performance of the anthem “Mawtini” (My Homeland), reflecting solidarity with the Palestinian people and their cultural heritage.
