Idlib, May 4 (SANA) An art exhibition titled “When the Guns Fall Silent” opened in Idlib on Sunday, bringing together around 70 works by artists from across Syria in a display highlighting themes of unity and shared experience.
The exhibition, held at the National Museum hall and organized by the Syrian Artists Union, features both professional and emerging artists. It runs for four days, with the first two dedicated to established painters and the final two to emerging talent.
Anis Hamdoun, head of the Artists Union in Idlib, said the exhibition includes works covering a range of subjects and conveying humanitarian and national messages.
Artists taking part said the event offers a rare opportunity to reconnect and exhibit their work alongside peers from different provinces.
Mai Halawani, an artist from Homs, said she is participating with two paintings, including one depicting forest fires in Kassab, Latakia, describing the exhibition as a chance to re-engage with the artistic community after years of isolation imposed by the deposed regime.
Doaa Abboud from Tartous said her participation carries particular significance, noting that the exhibition brings together artists from across the country under a shared message that art can unite.
Other participants said their works reflect daily life and social realities, adding that the exhibition provides a platform to promote interaction and social cohesion.
The event is part of growing cultural activity in Idlib aimed at supporting artistic expression and encouraging dialogue through art.
