Idlib, April 22 (SANA) The Idlib Directorate of Culture opened a visual arts exhibition titled “Coming Colors” on Tuesday as part of its cultural week activities, bringing together amateur and professional artists in an exhibition of around 70 works.
The show, held to mark World Art Day, features paintings exploring a range of symbolic themes, reflecting social and national messages.
Aziz al-Asmar, head of the visual arts department at the directorate, told SANA the exhibition provides a platform for emerging artists to develop their skills and showcase their work.
He said several pieces focus on themes of unity and resilience, with works depicting “victory” among the most prominent, reflecting sacrifice and a sense of achievement.
Artist Nabil al-Akhras said he contributed three pieces, including works in simplified calligraphic style and still life. He expressed hope that future works would demonstrate greater maturity and creativity, adding that the exhibition highlights genuine talent that requires continued support.
Theater artist Firas al-Ahmad, who attended the exhibition, praised its overall quality, saying the works reflect promising creative potential.
Officials said the exhibition is part of ongoing efforts to support artistic activity and promote the role of art in conveying social and humanitarian messages, while providing opportunities for young artists to develop their skills.
