Damascus, April 16 (SANA) An exhibition showcasing the work of emerging Syrian artists opened on Wednesday in Damascus, featuring a collection of paintings reflecting personal experiences and emotional themes.
The exhibition, titled “Athar” (“Trace”), is being held at the Arab Cultural Centre in Abu Rummaneh and brings together 16 young artists presenting 47 works.
Organized under the supervision of Al-Ra’i Atelier, the event marks an early step for participants in the field of realistic art. The works range from portraits and landscapes to childhood memories and scenes inspired by old Damascus.
Mohammad Sobhi Al-Sayed Yahya, head of the Syrian Fine Arts Union, said the exhibition highlights the creativity of emerging talents, particularly in their depiction of characters and traditional Damascus neighborhoods. He emphasized the importance of supporting young artists and preserving Syria’s visual heritage.
The exhibition also features works exploring themes such as Arab identity, fabric textures, and symbolic representations of human experience and inner strength.
