Quneitra, Jan. 16 (SANA) Israeli occupation forces carried out a new incursion on Friday into the southern countryside of Quneitra, advancing from the western Tal al-Ahmar area toward the villages of Ain al-Ziwan and Suwaisa.
A SANA reporter said that the force, consisting of eight military vehicles and three tanks, deployed inside the village of Suwaisa for about one hour before moving toward the small village of al-Dawayah, while the tanks advanced onto Abu Qubays hill.
According to local sources, the force remained in the area for a limited period before withdrawing, with no reports of arrests during the incursion.
The move came a day after Israeli occupation forces entered the village of Sayda al-Hanout in the southern Quneitra countryside, where they detained three young men, two of whom were brothers, for a short period before releasing them.
Israel continues to violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through repeated incursions into southern Syria, as well as raids, arrests and land-clearing operations targeting civilians.
Syria has repeatedly demanded the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from its territory, stressing that all measures taken by Israel in southern Syria are null and void and carry no legal effect under international law.
Damascus has also called on the international community to assume its responsibilities, deter the occupation’s practices and compel Israel to withdraw fully from southern Syria.
