Muscat International Book Fair postponed to a later date amid regional tensions

Muscat, March 9 (SANA) The organizing committee of the Muscat International Book Fair announced the postponement of the 30th edition, which had been scheduled for March 26 to April 5, 2026. A new date will be announced later.

Oman’s Minister of Information and chairman of the fair’s organizing committee, Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Harrasi, said Sunday the decision followed a comprehensive review of the current regional situation and related considerations.

According to the Oman News Agency, Al Harrasi stressed that the committee seeks to ensure suitable conditions for holding the event in a manner that reflects its cultural significance.

The Muscat International Book Fair is considered one of the region’s leading cultural events, attracting publishers and cultural institutions from around the world and drawing thousands of visitors each year.
