Deir Attiyeh Hospital reopened after terror-inflicted damage repaired

Damascus, SANA – Upon the directions of President Bashar al-Assad, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi re-opened on Thursday al-Bassel Hospital in Deir Attiyeh city in Damascus Countryside after its rehabilitation.

The hospital sustained damage due to acts of vandalism inflicted by the armed terrorist organizations in 2013. It has been rehabilitated by Homs branch of the General Company for Building and Construction at a cost of SYP 750 million.

The hospital, which covers a total area of 6000 square meters, consists of 6 floors that contains surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics and gynecology departments with around 100 beds, in addition to 5 operating rooms.

On November 26, 2013, terrorists committed a massacre in Deir Attiyeh Hospital, claiming the lives of 11 persons from the medical staff. However, two days later, the Syrian army restored stability and security to the city of Deir Attiyeh after eliminating all terrorists there.
